Modern laminate flooring is
designed for the needs and demands of busy, cost conscious families. Some of
the benefits of laminate flooring include these properties:
Stain Resistant
Laminate floors are quite resistant to stains, moisture, & sun fading.
Laminate floor makers often include warranty protection for up
to 25 years.
Durable
Laminate flooring is much
more durable than most installed solid hardwood floors, since it's made with
a tough and durable outer layer. It cleans more easily than carpet and vinyl
flooring and is more resistant to scratches than softer surfaces, such as
linoleum and solid hardwoods. Laminates are a good choice if your home has
kids, pets, or heavy foot traffic.
Easy Installation
Many laminate floors install using a 'floating floor' process. 'Floating'
means that the new floor is not attached to the floor underneath. Typically,
only the joints are attached or glued. The body of the floor sits unattached
over an appropriate underlayment such as particleboard or plywood.
Some floors are relatively easy for do-it-yourselfers, other are best
installed by professionals
Ease of Cleaning
Laminate floors are easy to clean. A little soap & water usually does the
trick.
Healthier
Laminate floors don't 'hold' allergens, such as pet dander and dust like
carpeting and provides a healthy living environment when cleaned regularly.
Less Cost
An average laminate floor is an very economical product, compared to other
types of flooring. Solid hardwoods may need refinishing and carpets and soft
tiles will need to be replaced more often in moderate to high traffic areas.
Laminate floors come in a multitude of styles and finishes. Find the
one best suited for your home.
